Hey There Y'all!
This is my first time to do a blog- so I really don't know what I'm doing! This site is to tell a little about me and the music I write. I am a Contemporary Christian artist born and raised in good ol' Arkansas. My husband, two daughters and I just recently moved to Lehi, UT. We literally moved across country and though it might seems crazy- we absolutely love it!
MINI-BIO I have been writing songs since I was 12- so for about 13years. I started writing songs with my older sister,Amy, and we wrote up until she got married and moved. I love her so much and want to say how much I love the great experiences we had and that special gift we shared! She is the best and will always be one of my heroes! We wrote songs on the piano and later I developed some skill the the guitar. Thank you Mom! Mom is a guitarist and showed me the basics which allowed me to open up a whole new door into my song writing. She always said I would enjoy writing on the guitar (not literally writing on the guitar, but writing songs on the guitar- you know what I mean:). As much as it pains me to say it- Mom, you were right.:) THANK-YOU There are some other "thank you"'s I want to mention before I go on-First, to God for the talents and opportunities He has given me. There is so much I can say,but I feel so much of my feelings have been shared in my music. May I praise and worship my God for all my days. I am eternally in debt to Him. Second, to my husband, Chad, for His love, support, & sacrifices for our family, his wisdom, and kindness. Sweetheart, I love you forever! Third, to my beautiful, sweet girls. I love you so much! You are such a joy to me and I thank God that He sent you to us.I hope you, too, go for your dreams and reach the stars! To my Parents- Thank you for investing in me financially, and emotionally to support me in my dreams and for your love. To my brothers and sisters (blood and in-laws)- thanks for listening to my music, for all your advice and comments (well, . . . maybe not all- just kidding) that helped make me better ( both in music and in life) ! I love you all so much! Thank you to all my music instructors. I don't remember all of your names, but I want to point out those you have made the greatest in pact- Professor Janice Yoes, Dr. Eddie Jones, and Mrs.Young. To The Music Man, Steve Kelsey, for the hours of recording, patience, and musical advice you gave me. I know there are more that I have forgotten. Please know that so many people have had impacts on my life and I want to thank you all. Whether it's been through friendships, mentors, examples, or other ways- THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!
UPCOMING PROJECTS I've recently made a demo album titled "Believe In God". I am in the process of sending it out to local producers. I'm excited and nervous-Wish me luck! That's all for now- it's 1am and I need to go to bed before I do a face plant into the computer!- Mel
